UntitledType is the product of half a decade of daydreaming. So who is that dreamer, exactly? Amanda Bassa, a young twenty-something originally from the D.C. area but currently (and very happily) residing in Brooklyn, NY. For the last few years I have passionately pursued the craft of writing and journalism with an emphasis on Hip Hop. It all began with a blog column on HipHopDX that I called “The Undisputed Truth.” Although that served as my entrance to other opportunities within the industry, no place where my words have appeared since has been able to match the freedom of speech which that column, and its overseers, provided to me.
UntitledType is my attempt to regain that ability to say whatever, whenever, and however I want. What this means for you, the reader, is a plethora of subject matter, uncensored ramblings, and writing that is indicative of my mood and mindstate at any given time. Basically, this is an outlet for anything I can’t say or do throughout my various assignments. That means event coverage, restaurant reviews, political rants like the good ol’ days, a random interview here and there, and my ability to post what I think is worth a listen or a view. It’s time to have some fun again and play by my own rules. When your passion begins to feel like work, it’s time to switch it up.
