Because I kind of love that the description of this video on YouTube says, “The clip for this “Stoned Immaculate” cut features Curren$y smoking weed (naturally) and hanging around women in boas.” What other words am I supposed to have for this after it was explained so perfectly?

There has been a not-really-recent-anymore influx of Dominicans in my life and their ability to put me on to the Dembow scene has sincerely stunned me. I used to hate this shit, part of me still does, pero (see what I did there?) have you ever been drunk in a club in the outer boroughs, most likely in like Washington Heights or Bushwick, surrounded by scantily clad Domini-Ricans and their male counterparts while everyone is smoking hookah and yelling shit you don’t understand, like “plomo”? It’s insane. More energy and dancing and drinking going on than Greenhouse on a weekend. Does Greenhouse even still pop off like that? I stopped going out. Once I experienced one of these, my mind changed a little, and I promise you my friends, it wasn’t just the henny talking.

But anyhow, we’re equal opportunity music lovers here at UntitledType, and though this isn’t my audience’s typical choice of sound, I know there’s some random person checking this who will appreciate it the way I did.

Even if you wish you could avoid the MMG movement, you pretty much can’t. Here’s the latest video to come out of Ross’ “bawse” posse, which now includes, of all people, Omarion. Nothing surprises me anymore in the world of so-called “urban” musics. Kind of like a drug user who is moving onto the next intoxicant since the original one ain’t cutting it anymore, I think I’m going to move onto a new genre as my main squeeze soon. Because if Omarion signing to MMG doesn’t even blow my mind anymore, what will?

Did another very short little interview for HipHopDX recently, this time with Showoff Hip Hop’s REKS. This man is never short on bars, I’m telling you, and Statik Selektah is never short on beats, so it’s only right that the two are teaming up for Straight, No Chaser. Not a long interview, not too much time to get into anything crazy, but he did speak on why he chose Statik for the job, how they met, and where his favorite place in Massachusetts is to drink his favorite drink: Hennessy.

Another odd change in my musical taste lately – I’m really gaining appreciation for dance/house/etc. shit. Odd, because I’m surprisingly sober these days and after a few years of, well, not being sober, it takes a lot of adjusting to social situations. Don’t judge me lol. But yeah, I’ve been a serious wallflower these days, so why the fuck am I loving dance tracks? I make no sense.

Anyhow, this is off Tiara’s upcoming RE:Dux which drops May 2nd, and Spencer Morris holds down production duties on the track. This almost sways me to attend one of the online universities and learn how to produce some tracks like this. Stream and download below.
